Susan Boyle catapulted to fame when the video her audition to Britain’s Got Talent in 2009 became the most viewed YouTube video of the year surpassing the then President of the United States Barack Obama’s inauguration video a whopping 5 times over! Yes, that’s how phenomenal the 59 year old Scottish singer was back the and still is. Susan ad not only impressed the judges of the show but won many a hearts across the globe with her soul-stirring voice rendering the beautiful melody  “ I dreamed a dream”. Little did Susan from West Lothian, Scotland knew that she would go on to become one of the most successful recording artist who now has an impressive 25 million albums sold, 250 million audio streams, 650 million plus views on all her music videos on YouTube an many successful tours. Susan was signed up with Simon Cowell’s recording label Syco.

Ms. Susan Boyle also accolades include 2 Grammy nomination, 3 Guinness World Records, 128 platinum and gold album certifications, No.1 Album ranking in 40 plus countries, having three or more number one albums in the UK – one of only 17 female artists in the history of the UK charts to do so. She even has smashes some of the music records previously held by the Beatels and has performed for the Queen, the Pope, and had a massive half a billion audience when she took stage on China’s Got Talent as a guest performer. She has headlined several popular music shows, award shows and music festivals.

Susan wrote about her journey in her autobiography which had a successful run, acted in the movie‘The Christmas Candle’, a cameo role in Zoolander 2 and been part of three successful television documentaries . SUSAN BOYLE’S SUGAR-LESS DIET

 

Upon being diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes, on her doctor’s insistence, Susan cut-down consumption of all processed sugar from her diet. She says cakes and ice-creams were “the bane of my existence” and began to consciously eliminate them from her food habits. In order to lose weight and maintain her blood glucose levels, Susan started having low-crab, high protein diets including foods such as lean meat, nuts and seeds, fresh fruits and vegetables. She even took up permissible, health levels of fats to help with balancing her new diet.

Here is a list of sugars to be avoided and a list of substitutes or acceptable sugars

Sugars To Avoid

 
  • Processed foods
  • Refined or artificial sweeteners
  • Breakfast cereals
  • Cakes, pastries, ice creams, and candies
  • Alcohol
  • Store-bought salad dressings, ketchup, and sauces
  • Factory made fruit juices, sodas, squashes, syrups

Sugars that are permissible

 
  • Fruits And Fruit Juices: They contain natural sugars with dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which are good for your health, digestion, and skin.
  • Veggies: Vegetables have good carbs (carbs are broken down into sugar) that help in better digestion and help flush toxins from your colon.
  • Cane Sugar Or Dark Brown Sugar: Cane sugar and/or dark brown sugar is less processed and healthier than refined sugar and artificial sugar.

Although her new, modified, sugar-free diet was a good starting point in her weight loss journey, Susan later realized that a diet alone wouldn’t suffice on her pursuit to a healthier life and needed extra help as well.

 

SUSAN’S EXERCISE ROUTINE

 

It is a well-known fact that people with diabetes need to walk and do some sort of physical activity to help with glucose uptake and to maintain their body weight. Susan’s physicians advised her the same. Since Susan’s already overweight body had caused her knees to become weak, she could only perform low-intensity physical activity that wouldn’t strain her knees and joints much. She increased her exercise time and walked almost 2 miles a day regularly for months. This everyday simple walking routine helped her lose weight and kept her blood sugar levels in check.

It was reports that Susan took Garcinia Cambogia supplements.

Garcinia supplements along with regular exercise is supposed to help with burning one’s body fat faster. Garcinia Cambogia is nothing but a tamarind fruit consisting of Hydroxycitric acid or HCA which supposedly is a key ingredient to accelerate burning of fats and to supress appetite. Osme studies have shown that Garcinia or HCA will facilitate the body to feel full throughout the day.
